Heiko Bleher collected this species in June 1995 together with Paola Pierucci and Patrick de Rham.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe males rainbows are a stunning blue with a dark lateral line and a brilliant flash of white from their mouths, down to their dorsal fin. The females are paler in color with a similar, but faded, lateral line.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese beauties grow to around five and a half inches in length, with males being slightly larger than their female counterparts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThey prefer a planted tank with plenty of room to swim, as they are very active in the water column.
